Designed for the XVII Olympics of 1960, the structure today houses a gym and a wellness centre and is connected to an area dedicated to canoeing and other water sports.
Forming part of the delightful Parco Centrale del Lago (Lake Central Park), the installation comprises an open-air Olympic swimming pool measuring 25x50 meters, with the side overlooking the lake being embellished by beautiful rose compositions and by two buildings that house the changing-rooms, offices and a catering facility, respectively.
It was renovated in 2007 and fitted out for other functions strictly related to swimming activities.
